It is a completely nonmagnetic and corrosion-resistant cobalt alloy. 

There are several Stellite alloys, with various compositions 

optimized for different uses. Some are formulated to maximize combinations of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or ability to withstand extreme temperatures.
